Tja, zo gaat dat, je doet iets waar je later spijt van krijgt en het niet meer kan terug draaien.
Het begint al als je nog heel jong bent. In een opwelling geef je je laatste snoepje weg. Waarom? Omdat je iets goeds wilt doen, maar een poosje later krijg je daar spijt van.
Goed, dat zijn nog kleine onschuldige dingen, maar het kan ook anders zijn.
Je koopt iets in een opwelling waar je later spijt van krijgt. Dat kan van alles zijn, kleding, meubels, een nieuwe auto, noem maar op. Je wilt het terug brengen en je geld terug krijgen, maar dat gaat niet meer. Weg is weg, je geld ook.
Als je verliefd bent leef je in het begin op een roze wolk. Je vind hem of haar helemaal geweldig. Maar, na verloop van tijd zie je het niet meer zitten. Je hebt geen zin meer, dus verbreek je de relatie: zomaar in een opwelling. Een poos later krijg je spijt, heel veel spijt en wil je het goed maken, maar dat gaat niet meer. Het is over.
Zo zijn er meer dingen waar een mens spijt van kan krijgen. Gevangenissen zitten propvol met mensen die daar over kunnen meepraten. Ze hebben straf gekregen en moeten die uitzitten. Levenslang is heel erg lang.
Volgens de katholieke kerk ligt dat anders. je had als kind iets heel ergs gedaan. Dus ging je biechten. Je vertelde de priester wat je gedaan had en zei dat je er spijt van had. Hij vergaf je je zonden en gaf je de opdracht te bidden. Als je kleine onschuldige dingen had gedaan moest je een paar Weesgegroetjes bidden en je zonden waren je vergeven. Als je een doodzonde had begaan ging het ook zo. Maar je moest wel écht spijt hebben. Hoeveel Weesgegroetjes iemand dan moest bidden weet ik niet. Maar, ik denk een heleboel.
Spijt moest je hebben, als je dat had kwam alles goed. Ja, ja, lekker makkelijk. Je vermoordt iemand, krijgt spijt en gaat biechten. Probleem opgelost.
Van gewone alledaagse dingen kan je ook spijt krijgen. Vreemd gaan is zoiets. Je hebt het met een ander gedaan en na een poosje kom je er achter dat je een geslachtsziekte hebt opgelopen. Dan heb je spijt. Je partner komt er achter en die krijgt dan spijt dat hij/ zij ooit wat met jou begonnen is.
Niet op tijd naar de wc gaan is ook zoiets. Je loopt naar buiten en voelt dat je moet poepen. Maar, omdat je haast hebt negeer je dat gevoel. Het gevolg is dat je een kwartier later in je broek hebt gescheten. Dan heb je spijt.
Je hond in de tuin van de buren laten schijten en net doen alsof je niets gezien hebt. Daar kan je spijt van krijgen. Zeker als de buurman het wel gezien heeft en de hoop bij jou voor de deur legt.
Een bank beroven kan je doen, daar krijg je nooit spijt van, want in een park staan zat banken. Meestal zijn ze leeg, maar soms ligt er toch iets op, tenminste als je geluk hebt.
