Er zijn veel emotionele momenten in ieders leven.
Pijn. Kleine kinderen huilen als ze pijn hebben. Volwassenen huilen niet, ze klagen, soms terecht, maar vaak ook niet. Aanstellen noemen ze dat. Kinderen, maar ook mannen en vrouwen kunnen daar wat van. Ze vinden zichzelf zielig en willen aandacht, dus klagen ze bij ieder pijntje. Iemand die écht pijn heeft klaagt meestal niet. De partner of een goede vriend merkt dat en leeft met ze mee.
Woede is ook een emotie. De een kan er goed mee omgaan, de ander niet. Sommige mensen uiten die door gewelddadig te worden. Zodra ze iets niet zint beginnen ze te slaan of te schoppen. Of nog erger, ze vermoorden mensen die hen dierbaar zijn omdat ze hun emoties niet onder controle kunnen houden.
Angst is ook zoiets. De een is bang voor de tandarts, de ander in het donker. Maar, er zijn in ieders leven vaak angstige momenten. Als je een examen moet doen ben je nerveus. Ook als je zit te wachten op de uitslag van een onderzoek bij de dokter. Soms overheerst de angst zo erg dat ze er misslijk van worden. Mensen die iets verborgen houden hebben altijd angst. Ze zijn bang dat hun geheim uitlekt en die emotie kunnen ze niet tonen.
Vreugde is een fijne emotie. Een van de mooiste is de geboorte van je kind. Als het gezond ter wereld komt huil je samen van geluk. Je geniet van zo’n kindje en kan je geluk niet op.
Als ze opgroeien komen er andere emoties, hun eerste stapjes, de pijntjes die ze hebben en verdriet, soms zijn het kleine verdrietjes, maar vaak ook grote.
Vreugde kan je ook delen. Als iemand blij is, leef je met ze mee. Ook als er iets in je omgeving gebeurt kan dat heel emotioneel zijn. Slechte berichten, goede berichten, ze roepen emoties bij je op. Een mooie film of iets dat je ziet gebeuren kan heel emotioneel zijn.
Goede berichten vindt je leuk, je bent blij voor die ander en geniet mee.
Slechte berichten vindt je niet leuk. Als je partner de relatie verbreekt raakt je dat behoorlijk. Allerlei gevoelens komen naar boven, gevoelens die je moet verwerken. Je huilt en wilt er alles aan doen om het goed te maken, maar als ze niet meer willen houdt het op. Dan moet je alleen verder, hoe verdrietig je ook bent.
Als iemand die je goed kent overlijdt ben je erg verdrietig. Als het iemand is die je niet kent, ben je minder verdrietig. Maar… als het dichtbij komt is het anders, heftig en heel emotioneel. Als je ouders of je partner of een van je kinderen ziek worden of sterven lopen de emoties hoog op. Je bent er kapot van, maar weet dat je verder moet. Die emotie is zwaar en erg heftig.
Herinneringen blijven over, tastbare en niet tastbare. Tastbare zijn vaak foto’s of kleine dingetjes die voor jou erg belangrijk zijn en die je wilt bewaren. Je stopt ze in een doos en een keer in de zoveel tijd haal je ze tevoorschijn om even aan die ander terug te denken.
Toch gebeurt het weleens dat je zo’n tastbare herinnering kwijtraakt, vaak gebeurt dat als je gaat verhuizen of je gooit het per ongeluk weg. Dat is heel erg, maar gelukkig heb je dan nog andere herinneringen. Herinneringen die in je hoofd en in je hart zitten raak je nooit kwijt. Die kan je nooit verliezen en niemand kan ze van je afnemen. Emoties, ze kunnen fijn zijn, maar ook heel heftig.
