Wim blijft vreemd doen, hij gaat ook steeds vaker weg én dat vind ik helemaal raar. Gister ook, ik was bezig in de keuken toen hij ineens achter me stond en zei: ‘Ik ga even een stukje lopen.’ Ik moet heel onnozel gekeken hebben want terwijl hij naar de deur liep mompelde hij nog iets van: ‘Ik heb daar zin in,’ verder niks. Ik keek hem na en naar buiten, het regende, niet hard, maar toch. Ik kreeg ook geen kans om iets te zeggen of te vragen want even later hoorde ik de voordeur al dichtvallen. Ik weet echt niet wat ik ervan denken moet. Het zal toch niet zo zijn dat hij vreemd gaat? Dat kan ik me haast niet voorstellen, anders zou ik het niet weten. Ergens klopt er iets niet, maar wat weet ik niet, zodra hij straks thuiskomt zal ik hem erover aanspreken. Wim en wandelen! Dat is net zo ondenkbaar als dat de Paus protestant wordt!
Afgelopen zondag zat ik te breien toen ineens de deur open ging en een klein jongetje helemaal alleen naar binnen kwam. Ik schatte hem een jaar of zes, misschien iets ouder, maar niet veel. Ik keek naar de deur en dacht zometeen komt een van zijn ouders ook naar binnen, maar dat gebeurde niet. Hij liep naar een van de wc’s, maakte de deur open, keek om het hoekje en deed hem toen weer dicht. Ik zag dat hij niet goed wist wat hij wilde, dus zei ik: ‘Ben je alleen?’
Hij knikte en liep naar me toe, toen zag ik pas dat hij een plastic tasje bij zich had. Hij legde het tasje op mijn tafeltje en zei: ‘Ik kom even hier bij jou zitten.’ Hij schoof een stoel naar de tafel, ging zitten en maakte het tasje open. Ik zag dat er een kleurboek in zat en een etui met kleurpotloden en omdat hij aanstalten maakte om te gaan kleuren, zei ik: ‘Weet mama of papa wel dat je hier bent?’
‘Ja, mama is een beetje boos op papa, want toen ik wilde gaan kleuren zei ze dat ik maar even ergens anders moest gaan zitten.’
‘Oh,’ zei ik en spitste mijn oren, ‘dat is niet leuk, maar straks is alles vast weer goed.’
Hij legde zijn kleurpotlood neer en zei: ‘papa heeft een vriendinnetje en daarom is mama boos.’ Hij keek me met grote onschuldige ogen aan en ging verder: ‘Papa doet ook vreemd, dat zegt mama. Ze zegt dat hij vreemd gaat en daarom boos is.’
Ik keek naar de deur en hoopte dat zijn moeder of vader hem zou komen halen, maar dat gebeurde niet. Ik keek weer naar dat joch en naar zijn kleurboek. ‘Je kleurt wel mooi, ook netjes tussen de lijntjes.’
Hij knikte blij en zei: ‘Heb jij ook een papa?’
Ik zei dat ik geen papa meer had, maar wel een man. Hij staarde voor zich uit, ik zag dat hij na zat te denken. Toen vroeg hij: ‘Gaat die ook vreemd?’
Ik dacht even na: ‘Weet je, soms doen we allemaal weleens vreemd, maar dat gaat wel over.’
Hij knikte blij: ‘Mama vindt het niet leuk dat papa een vriendinnetje heeft. Dat zei ze, ze zei dat hij maar bij haar moest gaan wonen. Maar ik heb ook een vriendinnetje en die woont bij haar moeder. Ik mag ook met haar spelen, dat vindt mama wel goed.’
Ik kreeg het er behoorlijk benauwd van, wist ook niet wat ik moest zeggen, maar dat hoefde niet want hij ging vrolijk verder. ‘Meschien moet dat vriendinnetje van papa bij ons komen wonen. Zal mama best leuk vinden., zal ik dat straks vragen?’ Hij lachte blij.
Ik schudde mijn hoofd: ‘Ik denk niet dat mama dat goed vindt.’
‘Maar,’ ging hij verder, ‘dan kan ze toch met mama en met papa spelen.’
Ik schudde weer mijn hoofd: ‘Ik denk niet dat ze dat willen, grote mensen spelen wel maar dat vriendinnetje van jouw papa wil vast geen vriendinnetje van jouw mama worden.’
‘Toch ga ik het vragen, meschien wil ze dat toch, ik vind het goed. Dan mag ze in mijn bed slapen, dat is groot genoeg.’
Hij straalde bij het vooruitzicht. ‘Ik ga het nu vragen.’ Hij stopte zijn kleurboek en de potloden terug in zijn tas, stond op en liep naar de deur. Maar halverwege draaide hij zich om en zei: ‘Als mama het niet goed vindt, zeg ik dat ze dan maar bij papa moet gaan slapen, kan mama bij mij slapen. Hij lachte en zwaaide nog naar me.
Tja, hoe simpel is het leven gezien door de ogen van een kind.
Wat heerlijk die kinder logica. Dus je weet het als kees een vriendinnetje heb mag ze best bij jullie komen slapen. Hahaha
